Commercial bank
Collecting local savings and keeping them in circulation
Accounts, cards, transfers and online banking. Savings collected in the South are reinvested in the South, not exported to the capital.
The group · Ecosystem, governance & mission
BACCABANK does not finance isolated transactions: it links producers, collectors, processors, transporters, distributors and customers in a single circuit, with SET-UP as its economic platform and RES as its social arm.
Our mission
BACCABANK is neither a bank that took up social work nor an NGO that started lending. The three activities were designed together: savings fund loans, insurance protects the borrower, and the agricultural credit union times repayments to the harvest.
Commercial bank
Accounts, cards, transfers and online banking. Savings collected in the South are reinvested in the South, not exported to the capital.
Community insurance
Health, education, property, travel and business. Contributions are set in gourdes and discussed with the savings groups before every revision.
Agricultural credit union
Seeds, inputs and transport on credit, with repayment deferred until the sale and technical assistance provided by CAPAH.
The model
BACCABANK connects every link in the agricultural value chain instead of financing isolated transactions. At every stage, the money that goes out flows back into the network’s circuit.
Producer
Financing for seeds, inputs and labour; crops insured by ASA-H.
Collector
Collection advances and immediate payment to the producer at the farm gate.
Processor
Financing for the processing unit, equipment and working capital.
Transporter

Bank / Insurance
BACCABANK and ASA-H: credit, payment, guarantees and cover at every link.
Distributor
Trade credit, inventory financing and merchant payment collection.
Customer
Payment through the network’s system; the money flows back to the producer’s account.

Our history
The group was built the other way around from the usual model: the community first, the banking licence second.
MOFEMTÈD organises women’s groups around rotating savings and financial literacy in the rural communes of Camp-Perrin.
CAPAH coordinates access to seasonal loans and technical assistance for producers in the South, and gives them a voice in the group’s governance.
BACCABANK ECO - S.A. is licensed by the Bank of the Republic of Haiti under number BH-2024-001, with share capital of 500 million gourdes.
The network of licensed agents takes deposits, withdrawals and diaspora transfers beyond the branches, all the way into rural areas.
Opening of the executive office in Cap-Haïtien and of the office of the parent company, BHZK Corporation, in Jacksonville, which receives account opening applications from the diaspora.
How we make decisions
The group keeps strategic decisions, lending and oversight separate. No single person may hold more than one of these three functions.
Sets the strategy, approves budgets and appoints executive management. Affiliated associations sit on the board with full voting rights.
Runs operations from Camp-Perrin and Cap-Haïtien, within the framework of the SET-UP project and the RES program.
Decides collectively on applications above 500,000 G. Below that amount, the branch manager decides, subject to ex-post review.
Checks compliance with prudential rules, know-your-customer obligations and anti-money laundering measures. Reports directly to the board.
Group structure
The group keeps two things apart: ownership of the bank and the money the bank manages for its customers. Your deposits, withdrawals, transfers and loans are handled directly by BACCABANK ECO - S.A.: they never go through BHZK Corporation.
Parent company · shareholder
Holds the shares of BACCABANK ECO - S.A. and leads the group’s governance, strategy and investments. Takes no part in customer transactions and never receives customer funds.
Operating bank
Bank licensed by the BRH. Opens accounts, takes deposits, grants loans and executes payments, in its own accounts and with its own treasury.
Customers and partners
Deposit, withdraw, transfer and borrow directly with BACCABANK ECO - S.A., which records every transaction in its books.
Example: a customer deposits USD 10,000. BACCABANK ECO - S.A. credits the account and records what it owes the customer, then manages these funds with its liquidity to meet withdrawals and transfers. BHZK Corporation plays no part at any step and never receives the funds before the bank.
| Operation | Direction | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| Capital contribution | BHZK Corporation → BACCABANK ECO - S.A. | The parent company provides capital to the bank. |
| Dividends | BACCABANK ECO - S.A. → BHZK Corporation | The bank distributes part of its distributable profits, subject to the applicable rules. |
| Intercompany loans | Both ways | One company lends to the other, within the applicable limits and authorisations. |
| Payment for services | Both ways | For example, IT services provided by a group company and invoiced under a contract. |
Every transaction between group companies is identified, justified, recorded and approved. Customer deposits are not the capital of BHZK Corporation: the two companies have separate assets and accounts. These transactions are supervised by the Bank of the Republic of Haiti, in particular counterparty risk and related-party transactions.
We are hiring in the South and the North, and we welcome partnerships with organisations that share our commitment to transparency.
