Limitation of liability

The pricing information, rates and limits published on this website are indicative and subject to change. Only the contractual documents provided and signed at a branch are binding on the Bank. In the event of any discrepancy, the latter shall prevail.

Privacy policy

BACCABANK collects and processes your personal data in order to perform its banking obligations, prevent fraud and comply with applicable regulations, in particular know-your-customer and anti-money laundering rules.

Data collected

  • Identity and contact details: name, date of birth, identity document, address, telephone, email
  • Financial data: transactions, balances, credit and repayment history
  • Community membership data: the cell or association you belong to, where you declare one
  • Technical data: connection logs for online services, for security purposes

Purposes and legal bases

Your data is used exclusively to manage your banking relationship, to assess a loan or insurance application, to comply with legal and regulatory obligations, and to secure transactions. It is neither sold nor rented to commercial third parties.

Disclosure

Data may be disclosed to the Bank of the Republic of Haiti and to judicial authorities upon lawful request, as well as to group entities strictly for the performance of the requested service (for example CAPAH for an agricultural guarantee, CAME for a housing assessment).

Retention

Data relating to an account is retained for the duration of the relationship, then for ten years after the account is closed, in accordance with accounting and regulatory obligations. Declined loan applications are retained for three years.

Your rights

  • Access the data we hold about you
  • Have inaccurate information corrected
  • Request the erasure of data not subject to a legal retention obligation
  • Object to the use of your data for marketing communications

Send your request in writing to contact@baccabank.com or to the registered office, together with a copy of your identity document. A response will be provided within thirty days.

Terms of use

These terms govern access to the baccabank.ht website and the use of the information services it provides. They do not replace the account agreements, loan contracts and insurance policies signed at a branch.

Access to the website

The website is accessible free of charge. BACCABANK may suspend access for maintenance or security reasons, without notice and without compensation. The use of automated content extraction tools is prohibited.

Opening an account

Any request submitted online constitutes an initial contact, not the opening of an account. The account is opened only after the documents have been verified at a branch and the application has been accepted by the Bank, which may decline an application without being required to state its reasons.

Loans and insurance

The amounts, terms and rates published are indicative. Every loan offer is subject to an individual assessment; the annual percentage rate, the repayment schedule and the fees are provided in writing before signing. A loan is a commitment and must be repaid.

Complaints

Any complaint must be addressed to customer service, in writing or at a branch. An acknowledgement of receipt is issued and a response is given within fifteen business days. Failing an amicable settlement, the dispute falls within the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Port-au-Prince.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Haitian law. The French version shall prevail.

Transaction security

The security of your funds relies on measures we take and on habits we ask you to adopt. Here is exactly what each party must do.

Our commitments

  • Encryption of communications with our online services and 3-D Secure authentication for card payments
  • Continuous monitoring of unusual transactions and preventive blocking in case of doubt
  • SMS notification of every outgoing transaction on your account
  • Free and immediate blocking of your card or account with a single call, 24 hours a day
  • Logging of administrative access to our systems and periodic internal control

What we will never do

  • Ask for your PIN, your password or a code received by SMS
  • Ask you to make a transfer to a “security” account
  • Send you a link by message to “unlock” your account
  • Call you to ask for the sixteen digits of your card

Your good habits

  • Dial our number yourself rather than calling back a number received in a message
  • Cover the keypad when entering your PIN at the ATM or counter
  • Check the amount displayed before confirming a payment
  • Report any unrecognized transaction within 48 hours
  • Keep your telephone number up to date with your branch

In the event of fraud

Call the card service immediately, then confirm in writing. A stop is placed on the payment instruments concerned and a complaint file is opened. Processing takes five to fifteen business days depending on the nature of the disputed transaction.
